Abstract

Objectives: To evaluate two patients with implant-supported single tooth restorations in the maxillary anterior region using Pink aesthetic index/White aesthetic index (PES/WES) and Copenhagen index score (CIS).
Materials and Methods: A total of 45 4th and 5th year dentistry students of Lokman Hekim University Faculty of Dentistry were asked to evaluate two different patient photographs with a single implant supported prosthesis in the anterior region and symmetrical natural teeth using PES/WES, and CIS.
Results: PES/WES score 0 values for Case 1 were: mesial papilla 21.1%, distal papilla 26.3%, crown form 18.4%, crown surface structure 18.4%; for Case 2, mesial papilla 11.1%, distal papilla 15.6%, crown form 26.7%, crown surface structure 11.1%. CIS score 4 values for Case 1 were 0% for crown morphology score, 2.6% for symmetry/harmony score, 5.3% for mesial papilla index score, and 5.3% for distal papilla index score; whereas for Case 2, these values were 9.3% for crown morphology score, 7% for symmetry/harmony score, 4.7% for mesial papilla index score, and 4.7% for distal papilla index score.
Conclusions: The percentage distribution of the CIS results is closer to each other, with more values in the numerical rating scale. It can be said that the participants' awareness of pink aesthetic parameters is more sensitive than white aesthetic parameters.
